In October 2015, the Spanish artist Paula Bonet created a large mural dedicated to Gabriela Mistral on one of the perimeter walls of the GAM, as part of the tributes paid to our Nobel Prize winner at the 35th Santiago International Book Fair (FILSA).

For her work the artist chose the poem “El amor que calla”.

Graduated in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, with specializations in Santiago, New York and Urbino, in Italy.

Initially he worked on oil painting and engraving techniques (intaglio, xylographic, lithographic), but starting in 2009 he focused on illustration and has worked in that field ever since. His work, full of poetry, has a multitude of ramifications, from press illustration, scenography, poster design or mural painting.

In 2013 he illustrated “Léeme” and the collection of poems “Si uneixes tots els punts”. Last year she presented “What to do when The End appears on the screen”, her first book with text and illustrations of her authorship, which was followed by “Little Amelia Gets Older”, a pop-up illustrated album. In 2015 he released “813”, an illustrated tribute to the French filmmaker François Truffaut and a fragment of his filmography.

His work has been exhibited in Barcelona, ​​Madrid, Valencia, Porto, Paris, London, Belgium, Urbino and Berlin, with the Gabriela Mistral mural being his first public creation in Chile and South America.
