GAM
We are the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, GAM, a contemporary center of arts and culture, located in a historic building in the heart of Santiago de Chile. We are located between Alameda, the capital's main avenue, and the Lastarria neighborhood, a circuit with cinema, art, design, gastronomy, bookstores and parks.

The building that welcomes us was built during the government of Salvador Allende to house UNCTAD III and later the Gabriela Mistral Metropolitan Cultural Center. After the 1973 coup d'état it was used by the dictatorship as the headquarters of the military junta.
In September 2010, we were inaugurated as GAM, a Bicentennial project of the Republic whose objective is to promote people's access and encounter with art and culture, through diverse, inclusive and quality experiences, highlighting their identity and historical significance.
Since then, we have transformed into a place that provides contemporary and accessible artistic programming, and a center that invites the participation, creativity and reflection of different audiences through activities and programs of artistic mediation and territorial links with communities and cultural organizations.
