creative laboratories

Creative Laboratories are spaces that promote access to artistic practices and encourage collaboration between people to explore, design and implement artistic projects from a collective perspective. Under this framework, we invite different communities to participate in instances of creation and experimentation that we develop with the help of national and international artists.

Citizen laboratory for Theater Day, 2023

“Among the laboratories already carried out, some experiences around the performing arts stand out, performing plays and dramatized readings, as well as podcast laboratories that contribute to the decentralization of the arts and heritage”

— GAM.

During 2023, the laboratory carried out by AYE CÍA, a Chilean/Spanish collective that brought to GAM the play “La Yapa”, a performative walk with a cast made up of representatives of various communities and which used different spaces from nearby neighborhoods such as Lastarria and San Borja as a stage space, was developed.

Between the years 2022 and 2023, the Citizen Laboratory “Voices of Hope” was carried out, a project in podcast format that was co-designed by the areas of Liaison and Mediation + GAM Communications to work together with the Chilean Gendarmerie and the San Joaquín Women's Penitentiary Center.

This project also had the collaboration of Emisor Podcasting and Red de Acción Carcelaria, resulting in the broadcast of a dramatized reading of one of the GAM dramaturgies and a creation of the women held in the aforementioned prison.
