Mosaic by the Antofagasta artist Nanda Yasoda that pays tribute to the poet Gabriela Mistral. Using a new mosaic technique, the artist donated the writer's face to GAM in April 2022 on the anniversary of the Nobel Prize winner's 133rd birth.

The work was made for two months in his workshop in Antofagasta and was installed on the stairs of the west plaza of GAM.

“They are glazed ceramics and baked at a thousand degrees, I made the color palette and unlike the other faces we have made so far, this one goes off the plane, because it has a cement base that is wavy. That is new, we had not experienced it before, it is uniting the modern with the contemporary a little.”

The artist has made mosaics in works installed in public spaces in the northern city, which pay homage to Antofagasta characters such as Hernán Rivera Letelier, Lenka Franulic, Andrés Sabella, among others. He has also participated in international events, such as the work “Cartacuba” that remains in the Museum of Natural History of Santiago de Cuba.
