More than 50 works of performing arts will be presented in theaters in 2026, in addition to new developments in popular and classical music, festivals, exhibitions and artistic activities.
With the motto “Brutally creative”, GAM will highlight classic and contemporary authors and open new artistic lines to become the house of culture.
“Creativity is our strategic resource. Our 2026 program moves between a varied programmatic and musical offer, and a proposal at the level of ideas and thought. We want to contribute to critical reflection and the construction of the public sphere. Also, we take charge of consolidating the space for creative residencies because we embrace the trial and error and experimentation of our artists. We will put special focus on the training of future managers and technicians, because GAM is a natural breeding ground for talents in the sector.”

This season there will be 52 works of performing arts, which will include 31 theater pieces, eight dance pieces, nine family shows and four new operas. In addition, there will be four exhibitions, 13 popular music concerts and 32 classical music. Also unmissable will be the more than 17 fairs and festivals that take place annually at the cultural center and dozens of free activities, residencies and training.

Launch
On Wednesday, January 14, the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, GAM, launched its 2026 season together with the artists who will star in the dozens of works that will be present this year in the rooms and open spaces.
The Queer Chile Choir, the Brontë quartet, the urban dance group 2da Street and DJ Maxicat highlighted the event by uniting the classic, the urban and the popular in a show full of emotions, singing, musicians and dancers.
With the presence of the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, Carolina Arredondo, and various authorities, GAM presented its strong 2026 programming.
