Splitting / Absence” will be an opera about the Chilean-American artist Gordon Matta-Clark, whose work resonates strongly in the present. Composed by Sokio, this GAM production will intertwine art, architecture and contemporary memory.

"Domitila", will come from the hand of Lírica Disidente in co-production with Brazil. This chamber opera by João Guilherme Ripper exposes the forbidden relationship between Domitila de Castro and Emperor Pedro I of Brazil in the 19th century.

GAM will also present "The Prodigal Son", the third parable by Benjamin Britten (opus 81) inspired by the famous painting by Rembrandt. The work, premiered in 1968, stands out for being the most operatic of the trio of parables and recounts the transformative return of a wandering young man.


A cow looking at the piano” by Miguel Farías will also arrive in theaters. Based on a libretto by Alejandro Sieveking, this contemporary and humorous chamber opera exposes how everyday neutrality feeds inequalities.
