Going back to humor and reflection

This year, favorite works of the public will return with 16 remounts that have been in GAM and others that arrive for the first time. The acclaimed version of “La pérgola de las flores” by Héctor Noguera returns to GAM with Francisca Walker and more than 30 performers on stage to tell the adventures of Carmela who arrives in the capital. “Radiotanda” returns with the help of Ximena Rivas and her character “La Desideria” to bring us the classic radio program full of humor and live music.

“Amores de cantina” by Juan Radrigán will once again stage the sorrows and desires that take place in a cantina outside of time. For those who missed the 2025 “I want to be an Almodóvar girl”, Álvaro Viguera's muses will return to recreate the most memorable scenes from the Spanish director's cinematographic universe. Patricia Rivadeneira also returns with “At the feet of the tree”, which articulates the thoughts of Humberto Maturana in a stage experience directed by Manuela Oyarzún. Finally, “Villa Project” of the Creative Nucleus CC, will revisit the houses used as detention centers during the dictatorship. Together with Paulina Urrutia and Daniel Candia, the work explores how these spaces marked the lives of thousands of people and how their memory is still present in today's Chile.

Another 10 works will live the GAM experience with their artistic teams to be presented for the first time in the rooms of the cultural center. “Reasons to not die” by the Chilean National Theater with Néstor Cantillana and Carla Casali, who revisit texts by Jorge Díaz. “MUTE”, a show that explores the sudden case of a child's mutism and the difficulty of living with silence in a world saturated with voices. “Octet,” by composer and playwright Dave Malloy, follows eight people who gather in a support group to confront their addiction to screens and the internet.

Teatro La Mala Clase with Bosco Cayo and Aliocha de la Sotta will bring “El Dylan”, a play about the true story of a transgender brutally murdered in La Ligua. “Three Marys and a Rose” comes from the hand of Loreto Valenzuela with the lives of four residents who find their livelihood in the face of poverty in burlap workshops. And María José Pizarro will direct "El purgatorio", where a teacher exposes the moral complexities and decadence of the rural educational system.

In “Swamp Crows”, three crows navigate through myths of the Maule Region, to talk about life, death, power, passion, good and evil. Finally, La Dramática Nacional will return with “Chiloé, covered skies”, to narrate the life of Chilotes in the 70s, who must migrate to Patagonia in search of work.
