The Santiago International Documentary Festival comes to GAM with book launches and conferences. Some of these activities are the presentation of a book by editor Coti Donoso and a talk about cinema and human rights.
There have now been 20 years of festival, throughout which Chilean documentary film has gained space for its quality, both for critics and among the public. This 2017, the National Feature Film Competition, in addition to the good level of current Chilean cinema, reflects a strong thematic and stylistic variety.
The eight selected films are: The Directive (Lorena Giachino), Mute (Claudia Aguilera), RIU, what the birds tell (Pablo Berthelon), Robar a Rodin (Cristóbal Valenzuela), They came to look for me (Álvaro de la Barra), The color of the Chameleon (Andrés Lübbert), Tierra sola (Tiziana Panizza) and The Sicilian (José Luis Sepúlveda and Carolina Adriazola).
