The Thread Count project was born from writings generated by older women in the “Spinning the Past” workshop (2022, NGO Tempora) and a series of meetings and exchanges around various crafts with contemporary artists.

These women used media such as photography, ceramics, textiles, sound and video to together generate a collective and intimate story.

Under a relational art perspective, Cuentahilos materializes personal experiences in diverse socio-political contexts, valuing everyday life, the minimal and the anonymous over the great narratives in the social construction of local history.

During its exhibition, free workshops and activities will be held open to the public, upon registration, as an invitation to participate and actively interact with the exhibition.
