The Wolf House

It is not difficult for you to have come across The Wolf House at some point. The film of the same name was shot by Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña over four years in more than ten museums and galleries. A long work that was carried out in front of the public in Holland, Germany, Mexico, Argentina and different Chilean spaces, such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, the MAC and Matucana 100. But the installation that arrives at GAM is different. It is no longer a live stop motion shoot, because finally the film is ready. In fact, this exhibition opens parallel to its premiere in Chile, with the impetus of having already accumulated seven distinctions at film festivals.

The exhibition The Wolf House allows you to immerse yourself in the fantastic universe of the film of the same name, which tells the story of a young woman who escapes from Colonia Dignidad and takes refuge in a house in the south. The multimedia installation includes an architectural piece created by Iván Bravo and inspired by that shelter, along with objects, sounds, fragments of the film and documentary material about the production process. With her, León & Cociña seek to create “a world as fantastic as possible in which Chile has been transformed into a macabre utopia.”

The exhibition includes two conferences: Art and political horror: conversation about Colonia Dignidad (Nov 15) and another with León & Kitchen (Nov 30). La casa lobo is sponsored by Universidad Andrés Bello, Goethe Institut and Balmaceda Arte Joven; and supported by Fondart.
