As a way to make visible the artisanal creations that are currently being made, the Tomás Lago MAPA Museum of American Popular Art, of the University of Chile, exhibits the work of the seven award-winning artists recognized to date under the category of Master Artisan.
The Award, promoted by the Crafts Area of the National Council of Culture and the Arts, annually recognizes the life, cultural value and career of artisans, who constitute a fundamental part of the country's identity and cultural heritage.
