Hundreds of people looking for a common space to be themselves, gather today in GAM and its surroundings. It is not about belonging to a certain group, but about finding one's own identity and expressing it without fear.
Through the portrait technique, IM aims to understand ordinary people who pass through the cultural center. Lucas Urenda portrays them in an attempt to capture the essence of those who dare to be themselves.
Publicist and Diploma in Photography (UNIACC) and Master of Professional Photography (IDEP Barcelona). Author of the photobook “Ser Invisible” (Ed Ocho Libros, 2018). His works talk about social conflicts; of a hostility that is evident in different situations, but all – he considers – unfair. Marginality and poverty, racial discrimination, lack of recognition of indigenous peoples and their struggles, invisibilities of public space, are some of the themes that he captures in his images. Just as humanity and its relationship with the environment are also problems that can be read in his work. The meaning of this work has been exposed in Chile, the United States, Europe, among others. Also in workshops carried out by the author in universities, companies and in the photography workshop at the Puente Alto Prison.
He has been highlighted and awarded in multiple national and international instances for his photographic work.
