The new exhibition at the Tomás Lago American Popular Art Museum of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile begins, which seeks the intersection, encounters and disagreements between materials, forms, thoughts and creators.
This exhibition brings together pieces characterized by innovation, both in the use of materiality and in its conceptual proposals.
The exhibition offers, at the same time, a look at the everyday imagination, in which traditional motifs coexist with others from mass culture expressed, for example, in comics or cartoons.
The exhibition offers a space to those creators who risk their usual way of working, investigating local practices and introducing formal changes that result in novel and disturbing objects.
In addition, the room offers in its showcases a sample of Contemporary Tapestry, and works from the Textile Art Workshop of the University of Chile, directed by Constanza Urrutia with 22 works, in which you can see references to the urban world, photography, painting and mass culture.
