Selection of 155 pieces that represent the domestic trousseau, clothing and ceremonial costumes of different towns and communities in Latin America.
Since the 1940s, the Tomás Lago Museum of American Popular Art, MAPA, has received costumes and clothing used by different peoples and communities in Latin America, both of indigenous and popular origin.
155 pieces will be exhibited for the exhibition from Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile.
There will be domestic trousseau and ceremonial clothing, among which sarapes, ponchos, sashes, skirts, hats, wristbands and anklets stand out. All these elements worked based on various materials such as wool, cotton, plant fiber and feathers.
