Reflecting “the new poverty” was the proposal accepted by the Chilean photographers Bernardita Bennett, Marcela Bruna, Cecilia Coddou, Zaida González, Carla Mc-Kay and Carola Sepúlveda, all young, but with a recognized visual work.

The invitation will translate into 18 images that will be shown, never all together and in different formats, in a sort of escalation of visual stories between now and the end of the year. The first appointment is this September 26 at the GAM at noon and the exhibition will remain open until October 2; On September 28, at Perrera Arte, at night and in the form of a video there will be another way to approach “Santiago Poniente”. And the third meeting is scheduled for November 22, at Matucana 100.

Since 2015, Hogar de Cristo and its foundations have encouraged cultural creation based on social themes, involving prominent artists, who this year have the distinction of being women and photographers. A combination that was coincidentally virtuous, since the person in charge of selecting the images for the exhibition was awarded the National Prize for Visual Arts this year in a meritorious recognition because she meets two unusual conditions on the list of winners: photographer and woman.
