Who is Sarah Miller?

What would it be like to live inside an Ikea-style home goods store? That is one of the questions that runs through this production, starring Carmen Gloria Bresky who plays a full-time worker at a business called Happee.

This civil servant, Sarah Miller, is an exceptional performer and frequently works overtime. However, once his day is done, he uses the display products as if they were his own home. At night, you settle into the sofas and enjoy watching movies, dining in the dining rooms, and sleeping in the sample beds. His in-depth knowledge of the store has allowed him to find the most effective strategies to maintain his residence there secretly.

The national company Drama Club (Today's slavery is answering thousands of Christmas cards, Casting K. Perry, Newsroom of the future) debuts at GAM with this play full of humor, intrigue and social criticism about the cost of rent and the dream of owning your own home. What motivates Sarah Miller to turn her workplace into her home? is the question that arises on the scene.

"I was attracted by the discourse of the work: the idea of ​​home, what is politically correct, consumption, credits. I am interested in telling the story of a woman in her forties, who is alone and inserted in a world full of models, of an apparently perfect house, and what she is willing to do to have the life that society asks of her," says Carmen Gloria Bresky.

An attractive stage space, costume changes, the apparent happiness of the Happee store and Sarah Miller's journey of self-discovery are part of the ingredients of the production. And it is not without challenges.

"In this proposal we seek to get closer to making a work within more traditional parameters but fusing it with our way of approaching creation: from nonsense, from enjoyment, from reflection as subjects and inhabitants of a particular context. We position ourselves as creators from a position of ordinary citizen fighting to understand and survive in a world that needs you producing," points out director Nelson Valenzuela.

“The work seeks to raise a reflection on the precariousness of current living and working conditions, particularly in this economic system that makes it difficult to have a home, a “room of one’s own,” in addition to other issues such as the dehumanization and isolation of people within the consumer society,” adds Sara Marambio, actress and playwright.
