Written by Carla Zúñiga and directed by Manuel Morgado, the work explores motherhood as an extreme experience where love, fear and madness intertwine in a journey between the real and the dreamlike. Through a fragmented and symbolic narrative, it reveals the emotional abyss and the radical transformation of a woman after giving birth.
What do the birth of a child and the collapse of a star have in common? The acclaimed playwright Carla Zúñiga and the director Manuel Morgado invite you on an amazing journey where motherhood stops being a domestic issue and becomes a phenomenon of galactic proportions. This is not just a play; It is an immersive experience that unites the intensity of human emotions with the deepest mysteries of the universe.
What happens in space while you cry at home in the fetal position imagine that childbirth is an emotional black hole. For the protagonist, a woman who has just given birth, known reality is deformed: time stops being linear, everyday life becomes ghostly and the intimate expands to the stars. The work explores motherhood as a limit experience, a personal "Big Bang" that collapses common sense and forces us to look at the world from a completely new perspective.
What makes this montage unique on the billboard is its amazing scientific basis. The staging not only tells us about mothers, but also uses concepts from astrophysics, quantum physics and string theory to build its language.
Through historical figures such as Marie Antoinette, Magda Goebbels and the Virgin Mary, the work questions the place of women in history, while inhabiting a fragmentary and floating structure, as if we were inside a nebula.
Carla Zúñiga's unmistakable stamp on the text and Manuel Morgado's direction, together with a great cast, guarantee a piece that shakes both the heart and the intellect. The Teatro del Antagonista company has established itself as a Chilean company of reference in contemporary scenic research, articulating proposals with high visual impact, fragmented structure and a strong symbolic load.
