Try not to build it

The location of the audience is atypical: from above, spectators observe the scene. An experienced cast led by Regildo Castro, Mario Lorca and Sara Pantoja moves between walls, cold and darkness. It is a night in the countryside in the middle of a war, the coordinates are fuzzy and the action is marked by suspense. A woman and a man seek to kill a Jew. That is the starting point of Try not to build it, the praised adaptation of the novel Abahn Sabana David, by the French writer Marguerite Duras.

With a marked political and philosophical content, the work is based on the novel that Duras wrote based on her experience of being expelled from the communist party. Do current political ideologies protect the true needs of human beings? is a question that runs through the work.

José Ignacio García made his directorial debut with this production that obtained a special mention from the Círculo de Críticos in 2011. The novel was adapted by Juan Claudio Burgos and the scenery is by the renowned theater designer Eduardo Jiménez.
