Black comedy that shows the efforts of a major law firm to defend a Mapuche community member accused of murder. Work by the Teatro La María company, written and directed by Alexis Moreno. With Alexandra von Hummel and Rodrigo Soto, among others.

Erwin Cayuqueo is accused of the murder of a farming couple in Temuco. More than 600 kilometers from the site of the event, between four walls, a group of lawyers from a powerful law firm plans their defense. They don't care that they don't know Cayuqueo or believe in his innocence; they are only interested in their interests, maintaining their privileges and prestige.

The millionaires is a black comedy that shows the discussion in which they prepare the defense, where they shamelessly display racism and classism in spades. Yours and the media. Because Alexis Moreno wrote the play after investigating the national press from the 19th century until shortly before the premiere, in 2014. “It is a staging that makes you uncomfortable, that makes you laugh, and that reveals how racist and classist we as Chileans can be,” wrote Marietta Santi in her review of the play.
