The last name starts with me

The last name begins with me is a play that could have been a documentary film. A documentary filmmaker lives a harsh situation that shows her a side of her country that she does not know: other ways of resolving conflicts, of dispensing justice and of conquering territories. He decides to do some work with this and goes from being a subject to an object. However, in this process he discovers a personal story that radically transforms the story he has of his family. The Peruvian actress, playwright and director Chaska Mori, in collaboration with Luisa Pardo and Gabino Rodríguez, members of the renowned Mexican group Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol, stages a personal journey, which is also the story of a Latin American country. At a crossroads between testimonial and autofiction, it exposes the close ties between the legal, the illegal and the unjust, a daily ferment that extends to the family nucleus as well as to all levels of a dismembered society, where reality seems to exceed fiction.
