Juan Radrigán, National Prize for the Performing Arts in 2011, is undoubtedly the playwright with the most current career in Chilean theater. And Daniel Veronese long ago stopped being an author and director of the Buenos Aires theatrical avant-garde, to become an Argentine classic.
The actor and director Iván Parra unites these renowned playwrights in The Interval, a work staged by the one-person Isabel desterrada in Isabel (1981), by Radrigán, and Luisa (1993), by Veronese, which is presented professionally for the first time in Chile.
"Both texts had a kind of 'fund in common'; they developed critical points of what it means to be a woman in an important part of the conservative, paternalistic culture of Latin America," explains Parra, director of the work performed by Paloma Toral.
