The secret life of deer, their rules for surviving in the forest and the origin of their friendship with humans are the elements of this montage of Beautiful Company. A deaf play in Sign Language accessible to hearing people.
Inspired by the story “The Blind Range” by Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga, the deaf theater company accessible to hearing people Hermosa Compañía presents this piece that tells the life of deer, their fundamental rules for surviving in the forest and the secret of how they became friends with humans.
The story tells the adventures of the mother Venada who is in search of recovering the sight of her little and only daughter Venadita, who has become blind. On their journey, searching for a cure for their total blindness, they meet the Sloth Bear who guides them to the Doctor's house. The characters in the play are represented by deaf actresses and actors in very expressive body work through Chilean Sign Language. In turn, an actress and a hearing actor are in charge of giving voices, live, to these characters.
It is a simple staging full of colors and nature, which allows viewers (adults and children) to have an experience of contemplation and reflection, through this story told from the point of view of the animals.
