The Penquista company TeatroReconstrucción presents the award-winning work that Leyla Selman wrote inspired by Violeta Parra's décimas. Directed by Rodrigo Pérez.
The bird of Chile is son and star. A son who lives alone with his father after his mother abandoned them, in a village marked by poverty. And a sports star, a young man from the province who does not get off his bicycle and surprisingly becomes a world-famous champion. A champion who has a strong connection with Violeta Parra, because the only book in his house, one that his mother left, has the artist's tenths.
The Bird of Chile is a work by Concepción, written by Leyla Selman and performed by a large cast under the direction of Rodrigo Pérez (The Widow of Apablaza). The production combines theater with dance and live music.
The work of the TeatroReconstrucción company originally premiered in 2012 and since then it has been presented in different cities of the country, winning awards in Concepción, Calama and Santiago.
