One of the emblematic works of the Chilean playwright Isidora Aguirre (1919-2011), is the result of a journalistic investigation into the massacre of the peasants of Ranquil in 1934, to whom the lands granted by the government in 1928 were usurped and who were cruelly repressed and massacred, leaving more than a hundred dead.
Through this fateful event in the history of the peasantry in Chile, Aguirre delves into social issues such as the marginalized, the corruption of the government and the police, the inequality of the system, the bureaucracy of legality, but above all the injustice with the poor.
