What happens when a referendum is held to decide whether democracy should be ended democratically?
A group of four members prepares their voting station. It is not just any election, but a historic moment for Chile: a referendum to decide whether democracy should be ended democratically.
The country will take the political lead in questioning the popular validity of this system. What if no one gets to vote? Is it worth continuing to vote? If it is not democracy, what is it?
Represent is the second work by the company Perro Muerto, a generational look at the current questioning of the system, low participation and the deep crisis of political representation. Through agile language loaded with irony and humor, the characters will be forced to talk about politics and reflect on the future of the system.
How does this crisis affect theater, the art par excellence of representation? The company responds: "We don't know what is going to happen, we don't know what the best way out is, but we believe that the task of theater is to force us to ask ourselves about the future."
