National Theater Day

The Chilean company Teatro La María will present a free cycle of dramatized readings with its first three works from the “Black Trilogy”: The Apocalypse of My Life (2000), Trauma (2001) and Lástima (2002), all written by Alexis Moreno.

The readings will be performed by almost all of their original casts and will be accompanied by post-performance conversations, in which the influence that these texts had on the configuration of the company's particular theatrical language throughout 18 years of uninterrupted work (where they have also made adaptations of classic authors such as Shakespeare, Ibsen or Chekhov) will be analyzed, and which has led them to present their works in countries such as Germany, Portugal, Japan, Peru and the United States. The conversations will be moderated by Pablo Cassals ("Lástima", May 10), Eduardo Miranda ("Trauma", May 11), and Bárbara Vera ("The apocalypse of my life", May 12).

Along with this, a dramatized reading will be presented with a dramaturgical preview of his new project, Fe de rats, which will premiere in September 2018 at GAM and will star Tamara Acosta, Rodrigo Soto, among others.

Two thousand free tickets
As a way of sharing with the public, the RM Theater Network and the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage will give away TWO THOUSAND tickets for the performances scheduled during the day of this Friday the 11th, in its more than 20 associated theaters.

Works such as Last remorse before oblivion with Mario Horton, Eyal Meyer, Ingrid Isensee and César Sepúlveda; La iguana by Alessandra with Paulina Urrutia and Pablo Schwartz; Romeo and Julián with Mariana Di Girólamo and José Antonio Raffo, Tribus with Tamara Acosta, Life is a Dream with Héctor Noguera and El Bus with Jaime Omeñaca, Tichi Lobos and Juan Pablo Miranda, among others; They are part of the various productions and popular talents that the public can enjoy for FREE. From GAM there will be tickets for La Carta and Cuerpo pretérito. 

The modality is very simple: from 11 in the morning, spectators will be able to approach the stand of the Theater Network, which will be located in the front of the Antonio Varas Room of the Chilean National Theater TNCH (Morandé 25, Stgo., next to La Moneda), and pick up the invitations there (maximum two per person) that will be distributed in order of arrival until 5 p.m. or until stock lasts, in order to attend the work that each one chooses.
