Where is what existed? How do we communicate with those people who are no longer here? What is remembered? They are part of the questions that go through “Memoria”, the third production of the Teatro Anónimo company (“Carnaval”, “Espíritu”), under the direction and dramaturgy of Trinidad González.

It is a dreamlike journey where four actors play living and dead characters who face the dilemma of assuming responsibility for their own lives. Through the transgression of linear time and the superposition of various situations that mix drama and humor, these characters inhabit everyday, mythical and poetic spaces. Intersected by original music performed live by the actors themselves, the scenes take us on a trip down memory lane inward.

The idea for the project was born when three people in the group were experiencing very important grieving processes. Then the need arose to reflect on death and the feelings of the mourning process. "This is the company's most personal project. It challenged us to come out of our own pain to connect with the creative material and thus turn grief into an act of creation," says Trinidad González.

The audience will experience an emotional and dreamlike journey where the planes of reality are confused, where the notion of linearity and time is transgressed. It is a journey of images where the old can become young or children again and where stones and horses can dialogue with humans. All this with live music composed by Tomás González, also part of the cast.

Thus, what is and is not real are confused on stage, proposing a new way of looking, where imagination occupies the main role. “In an extremely materialistic world, returning to the space of dream and imagination is a wake-up call not to lose our spiritual life,” comment the artists.

"Memory is a time to reflect on our lives and take responsibility for what we are doing with them. Finally, the work speaks more about life and the importance of living it with determination and courage, than about death," González concludes.
