Kill Romulus

Of all the plays that William Shakespeare wrote there is none as bloody as Titus Andronicus. In its pages there are amputees, stabbings, hangings, beheadings, starvation, burning, rape and cannibalism. Of course, Shakespeare didn't kill 14 people in his pages for nothing, with their deaths he spoke of madness, power and revenge. That is why violence is an unavoidable theme in Killing Rómulo, a work that Luis Barrales wrote inspired by Shakespeare's text.

Sebastián Jaña directs the production performed by María Gracia Omegna, Moisés Angulo, Felipe Zepeda, Claudio Ravanal and Nicole Sazo. A montage that shows an art history professor giving a seminar on Shakespeare to young immigrants, when the largest terrorist attack on record occurs. Then the immigrants who were in his seminar are considered suspicious and Shakespeare's tragedy incarnates in their lives.

Four scenes by Titus Andronicus structure the staging, which is set in different times and spaces, from Ancient Rome to modern-day Chile.
