This piece draws in a comedic tone the portrait, desolate and tender at the same time, of characters marked by the need to escape, even briefly, from the world in which they live.
The protagonist of the work is a tailor who shares an apartment and workshop with an authoritarian brother who only allows him to carry out his favorite activity (dressing as a woman) when no one sees him. The only person he interacts with is the third-floor neighbor, an actor with little work who has just been left without a partner or source of income.
An unexpected situation will leave you alone. This fact will open a liberating door that you did not expect. And through this symbolic door will enter the woman she admires most and would always have wanted to be: the great dancer Isadora Duncan.
This will prompt his neighbor to put himself in the shoes of Duncan's great love, Sergei Iessenin. It will be a job or a game, but an intense and deeply human relationship will be established between both characters that will make us laugh, despite the dramatic background.
LA COMPAÑÍA LA INCÓGNITA was born from a shared fascination with the text by the English playwright Nick Payne Incognito, which was performed at the Sala Beckett in September 2018 as a dramatized reading and which finally premiered at the Teatre Lliure in March 2019 with great public and critical success.
