The ruthless world of sales, excessive ambition and the fight for professional survival take the stage with Glengarry Glen Ross, the iconic play by playwright David Mamet that, since its premiere in 1983, has impacted audiences around the world.

After performances at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes and Viña del Mar, the Chilean adaptation of the play comes to GAM directed by Álvaro Espinoza, and has a luxury cast made up of prominent actors Guilherme Sepúlveda, Mateo Iribarren, Andrés Velasco, Nicolás Pavez, Eduardo Herrera, Pablo Schwarz and Gonzalo Muñoz-Lerner.

Set in a real estate office, the story follows a group of salespeople whose job security hangs in the balance. Their boss imposes a brutal rule: only the two best will keep their jobs. With dismissal looming, the protagonists find themselves involved in a desperate race to get the best clients, unleashing a game of manipulation, betrayal and ruthless strategies that will push them to the limit.

Winner of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Glengarry Glen Ross has been recognized as one of the most influential plays of the last 40 years. Its impact led to the acclaimed 1992 film adaptation, starring legends such as Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon and Alec Baldwin, a film that became a cinema classic and amplified the story's fame.

With sharp dialogue, unforgettable characters and a fast-paced pace, this work continues to resonate with today's audiences. In a society where competition and work pressure continue to mark the destiny of many, the work confronts us with the question: how far are we willing to go to succeed.

According to Zancada, "the brilliant translation into 'Chilensis' by Pablo Schwarz gives the work a certain freshness and closeness to the viewer, with nods to the pop culture of our country," to which the actor has commented that said work was complex. "It seems that the conversation is always trivial. In addition, they interrupt each other a lot, it is very fast-paced, they talk at the same time. It takes a few minutes to know what they are talking about. It is very nice how Mamet is releasing signals," says Schwarz.

“These are people who have worked together for years, but they only compete among themselves, although it seems that there is a lot of camaraderie,” explains Pablo Schwarz in an interview in Bíobío. To which Álvaro Espinoza points out: "these characters are neither good nor bad. It's a masterful way how Mamet puts it."
