Call 2016

Works with contemporary language and by national authors, chamber and dance theater, productions for the family and photography, for diverse audiences and that enhance the formation of audiences: GAM invites Chilean creators, regional creators and resident foreigners to apply for their artistic projects to integrate the 2016 programming.

Since 2012, the center has opened its doors to artists, and their proposals have completed 70 percent of the repertoire at the center. Prometheus: the origin, Santiago High Tech, The recording and Allende, September night were some of the projects selected in the previous call, innovative and successful works that premiered at GAM.

This call will privilege proposals that fall within the editorial axes that define GAM's curatorial line during 2016. In theater, Shakespeare and Cervantes are celebrated, on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the life of these enormous universal creators. And also the Centennial of Creationism, the avant-garde movement advocated throughout the world by the Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro.

The dance will have its emphasis on the Avant-garde, to commemorate the centenary of Dadaism, a movement relevant to the emergence of expressionism in dance. In addition, the five decades of the debut of Trío 65 are evoked, a group that marks the beginning of independent dance in Chile. In the same discipline, works related to creationism will also be incorporated.

In photography, works related to the Lastarria Neighborhood and the 160 years of the construction of the Vera Cruz Parish will be privileged.  Proposals that explore, address or refer to the memory and development of the neighborhood and its surroundings will be considered.

Project delivery is done electronically to convocatoria2016@gam.cl, from Monday, May 18 to Friday, July 3, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. The results of the selection will be published on the GAM website during August.
