Algernon, the anguish of knowledge shows the treatment that progresses until transforming Charly into a genius. But his new IQ will not make his life easier and will complicate his relationships with others. To make matters worse, Charly can see in Algernón's accelerated deterioration the omen of his own end.
The work of the Matamala Art Collective is inspired by the science fiction story Flowers for Algernon, by the American writer Daniel Keyes. The monologue includes staged experiments performed by neuroscientist Timothy Marzullo. The play, directed by Nicolás Fernandois and performed by Moisés Angulo, won the Las Condes Young Theater Festival last year.
