Jazz concert by the collective “Los Musicantes”.

Directed by Esteban Illanes, the group will address a repertoire of 100% Chilean music linked to Jazz and will perform world premieres of works commissioned from prominent Chilean composers.

The repertoire includes works by Federico Dannemann, Claudio Rubio, Marcelo Vergara, Esteban Illanes and Ignacio Díaz Lahsen, giving rise to a journey through different views of Jazz and contemporary popular music.

Its mission focuses on two main axes: on the one hand, creative and educational work with students and composers of the Musical Composition program at Projazz, and on the other hand, a commitment to the creation and dissemination of Chilean repertoire linked to jazz and the multiple fusions and hybridizations possible with Latin American, contemporary and popular music in general. They have performed in various concert halls, to mention a few: GAM, Sala Arrau of the Municipal Theater of Santiago, Thelonious Jazz venue, Sala Master of the Radio Universidad de Chile, Teatro Regional del Maule, Club Providencia, Aula Magna of the U. Central, in addition to performing permanently in the Projazz auditoriums. During 2017 they recorded their first album with exclusive repertoire by Chilean composer Ignacio Díaz Lahsen, with support from Fondart, which is projected as the beginning of a new stage of record production.
