The oral tradition of Rapa Nui is at the center of this creation of theater, music and dance by the Maori group Tupuna o Te Matato'a.
Above and behind the stage, 30 Rapa Nui artists transmit their cultural heritage with a contemporary and current proposal.
Since 2010, Maori Tupuna o Te Matato'a has maintained the ancestral roots of Rapa Nui, developing the concept of musical evolution, theatrical expressions and dance towards the contemporary.
In their shows the public can experience their energy and learn about their culture through their traditional and contemporary music. The artistic and creative director of the group, Carlos Lillo Haoa, is also a singer-songwriter, lead voice and guitar player.
Angie Pont, cultural manager of Maori Tupuna o Te Matato’a, is the curator of the group's works and choreographer. Te A'amu 'o te Haka'ara Ma'ohi Rapa Nui was the winning work of the Tapati Rapa Nui 2013 competition and presented at the Heiva i Tahiti Festival of the same year as an international guest.
