Premiere in Chile of this production by the Argentine director Alejandro Tantanián, starring the renowned Chilean actor, resident in Buenos Aires, Patricio Contreras.
Patricio Contreras says Nicanor Parra is a theater, music and poetry show that is composed of a selection of 18 poems extracted from the book "Obra Gruesa" by Nicanor Parra (1969).
In the work, there are readings of poems, acted texts, quasi-dialogues, poems intoned and set to music. The piece about Nicanor Parra has original music by Diego Penelas, who plays five poems at the piano in the rhythms of cueca, cumbia, habanera, tango and waltz.
The Argentine press said at its premiere in March 2015: "A tribute to that great Chilean creator was needed... A great discovery and a challenge for the viewer so that they do not miss this show."
“How can we not be captivated by this man with messy hair and so rebelliously young, by this poet who came to tell us that poetry was 'an essential item' and that 'the poet is a man like everyone else/ a bricklayer who builds his wall:/ a builder of doors and windows'”, declared Contreras regarding the work.
