Nicolás Rauss conducts a concert dedicated to pieces by Joseph Haydn, and the brothers Johann Christian and Carl Philipp Emannuel Bach.
Composing a plea, that was what the Austrian Joseph Haydn did in 1772 with a symphony in which the musicians, one by one, stopped playing, extinguished their candles and left the stage.
Some say that the problem was that the prince did not raise the salary of the court of musicians, others that the stay in the “Hungarian Versailles” kept them away from their wives for a long time. Now the Symphony of Goodbyes comes to GAM performed by the USACH Classical Orchestra, conducted by Nicolás Rauss and with Claudio Santos as cello soloist.
The concert dedicated to the German Sturm and drang movement will also include compositions by the brothers Johann Christian and Carl Philipp Emannuel Bach. The first will be theSymphony in G minor op. 6 n°6 and the second the Concerto for cello and strings in A major.
