Everyone who has heard the Cantata de Santa María de Iquique knows at least something of the relevant work of the composer Luis Advis.
Some creations of this key figure of 20th century Chilean music were recorded by groups such as Quilapayún, Inti-Illimani and Napalé. This last Canto Nuevo group was born in 1982 with the cycle of Brazilian songs that Advis composed for them. Now Napalé comes to GAM to give a concert with these songs, a repertoire that they have not played live since 1990. The recital also includes a review of the group's historical catalog, with songs that fuse Latin American folklore with learned music and that are born from poems by Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda, Miguel Arteche and Vicente Huidobro.
