Mate Amargo is not just a jazz ensemble, it is the result of an organic encounter in the Santiago night scene. The group consolidated after repeatedly meeting in improvisation sessions, where they discovered that their true strength lay in a robust collective timbre and a natural chemistry when playing.

Driven by the need to refresh the local scene, the collective distances itself from the repetition of formulas to focus on original composition, an element they consider vital for the development of current Chilean jazz. Their repertoire is an emotional journey that travels between the warmth of ballads, the energy of jazz fusion and the rhythm of groove, with pieces born from love and memory.

In his presentations, Mate Amargo fuses respect for the standards of yesterday and today with absolute confidence in honest improvisation, under the premise that music reaches its maximum potential when it is created among friends.
