The journalist and activist author, former Pitchfork editor, current MTV editor arrives for the first time in Chile within the framework of the Ruidosa Festand will be presented in a conversation format moderated by the Chilean journalist Marisol García. Along with the conversation there will be a brief musical presentation by the Chilean band Miss Garrison.
The author has been writing about music for more than 20 years. She is the current managing editor of MTV News and is the author of “The First Collection of Criticism by a Living Female Rock Critic” and “The Girls’ Guide to Rocking: How to Start a Band, Book Gigs, and Get Rolling to Rock Stardom.” She was an editor at Pitchfork and Rookie Mag and contributes to publications such as Spin and the Chicago Tribune. She has been an avid pioneer and spokesperson on the issue of gender in this world, paving the way, challenging who and how a music “expert” should be, as well as the role of women in the music industry both on and off stage.
Ruidosa Fest, a Latin American feminist network/platform/festival that aims at social transformation through the visibility and empowerment of women in the creative industries.
