Interferences 3: Matías Aguayo

The next presentation in Santiago of the Chilean creator (b. 1973), raised in Germany and now living in Mexico, Matías Aguayo, will take place in a completely atypical place. GAM will open its underground parking lots for the musician to present his show “Navigando las ondas Ultracortas”, a trip that invites a conspiratorial date to reveal secrets about his current creative stage, and present a preview of his new album in preparation (scheduled for 2026).

In the musician's words, “Navigating the Ultra Short Waves” is a show that “combines elements of musical comedy, agnostic gospel mass, academic talk and party!” In his single "El internet" (2025), he invites us to dance from the new urban reality: that of omnipresent and interconnected screens, which sometimes leave us facing the music in unexpected places; exposed to cross-border messages.

Matías is a producer, composer, performer, performer, record manager and DJ. Periods of living and working in Berlin, Paris, Buenos Aires and Mexico City have contributed to shaping a dynamic and always purposeful artistic personality, at the intersection of electronic music and other disciplines. In 2009 he founded the Cómeme label, which promotes the promotion of Latin American sound.

Around the year 2000, with the German Dirk Leyers he formed the duo Closer Musik, which over the course of just over three years developed an electronic work associated with house and soul, synthesized in the album After love (2002), which received great critical reception. In Buenos Aires he was giving shape to what would constitute his first solo album. Are you really lost (2005). In 2009, the electronic world was surprised by the release of Ay ay ay, an album that continued to be included in the best of the year lists of the most prestigious international publications. In 2013 he released The Visitor, an album described as "Exuberant in every sense, in voices, accents, rhythms and colors."
