Four concerts will be offered every Tuesday in July by IMUC groups at GAM. Called the Wind and Percussion Cycle, they will be 20th century percussion classics, classics for saxophone quartet, timeless classics for piano and winds and 20th century French composers.
On July 7 the Uc Percussion Group Felipe Bravo, Felipe Leiva, Magdalena Pacheco, Tomás Moreno, César Vilca, Carlos Vera Pinto) will perform Nahuelhuapi by Christian Hirth, Rrrrrrr… by Mauricio Kagel, El Reencuentro by Guillermo Rifo, Third Construction by John Cage and Toccata for percussion sextet by Carlos Chávez.
On July 14, the Oriente Saxophone Quartet (Alejandro Rivas, Pablo Vega, Miguel Villafruela and Karem Ruiz) will perform The Pale Dancer (Tangos) by Graham Lynch, Grand Quatuor Concertant Op. 79 by Jean Baptiste Singelée, Andante du Quatuor No 1 by P.I. Tchaikovski (Version by Marcel Mule), Quartette (Allegro de Concert) by Caryl Florio, Three Pieces by Ernesto Lecuona, Latin American Saxophone Quartet by Aldemaro Romero, Jazz Suite by Pedro Iturralde and Five Brief Dances by Luis Advis.
On July 21, Karina Fischer (flute), Rodrigo Herrera (oboe), Francisco Gouet (clarinet), Marina Martelli (bassoon), Ricardo Aguilera (horn) and Camilo Gouet (piano), will tackle classics such as Quintet for piano and winds KV. 452 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sextet in Bb for piano and winds Op. 6 by Gordon Jacob, Divertissement Op. 6 by Albert Roussel and Sextet for piano and winds by Francis Poulenc.
Finally, on July 28 the UC Contemporary Ensemble will perform with Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune by Claude Debussy, Dérive by Pierre Boulez, Le merle noir by Oliver Messiaen and Talea by Gérard Grisey.
