Colombina Parra and Silvio Paredes

The duo Colombina Parra & Silvio Paredes releases their new album on vinyl and has chosen GAM to celebrate it. CRUDO is the name of this new work that, in addition, renames the duo and marks a new meeting point between two consecrated figures of Chilean music. Each one, with an extensive career in different sound territories, comes together to give life to an experimentation where musical languages ​​intersect that push towards imaginary landscapes.

The union of Parra and Paredes gives life to an album that dares to inhabit little-explored territories. Colombina Parra, with her unmistakable voice and lyrical strength, is intertwined with the sonic audacity of Silvio Paredes (Eljuegos), who deploys an arsenal of processed basses and synthesizers that blur the boundaries between the organic and the electronic.

The duo debuted in 2021 with the EP Las flores de bien, recorded at Altísima Estudio and published by Tensa Records. In that initial work, they fused Colombina's poetry and keyboards with Silvio's electronic bases and Chapman Stick. With CRUDO, they delve deeper into that creative dialogue and enter more experimental territory: distorted guitars and basses, ambient rock, synthesizers and darker electronic textures, giving more space to the spontaneous.

The proposal mixes the creative worlds of both artists in the context of ambient and downtempo, exploring shared electric and analog roots.

• Colombina Parra —musician, architect, visual artist and poet— has moved freely through various genres, from rock to folklore, with influences ranging from John Cage to lyrical singing, always with the power of her poetry as the central axis.
• Silvio Paredes, musician and visual artist, is a founding member of emblematic bands such as Primeros Auxilios, Eltrabajos and Los Mismos. Innovator in the electric bass and pioneer of the Chapman Stick in Chile, he has also produced two international festivals dedicated to this instrument.
