The singer-songwriter presents an intimate show in unplugged format, where the strength of his poetry will meet the warmth of acoustic instruments. A tour of his essential repertoire that will offer new readings and an opportunity to discover new material with songs that will show his artistic maturity.
Owner of a particular and androgynous voice, of a prolific singer-songwriter, of a discography alternating between official and informal editions, and of artistic concerns extended to poetry and painting, the singer-songwriter Mauricio Castillo –Chinoy, after his carpenter grandfather– went from playing in bars in Valparaíso to being, between 2008 and 2009, a phenomenon of visits on the then massive and influential platform MySpace, and then one of the names most reviewed by the local press.
Since then, and among biographical ups and downs atypical for those of a successful musician, his work remains one of the most firmly identified in the panorama of national soloists born after 1980.
The musician has been inclined to work live and itinerant, with visits to Colombia, Mexico, Germany and Argentina (he lived for a time in Córdoba and Buenos Aires). In its own way, and according to its impulses, its trajectory is fascinating, in part, because of its unpredictability.
