The group performs for the first time at GAM with its album “La cueca me capivó”. Giving fresh nuances to this genre, the show combines music, poetry and visuals, with a new stage aesthetic for Chilean roots music.
Chilean Orchestra is a musical project created to deepen the knowledge and interpretation of Chilean musical folklore. Born in 2020 under the Musical Direction of Mauricio Ruz Gutierrez and the Artistic Direction of Rodrigo Miranda Valle, the orchestra combines a base of popular instruments with a formation of symphonic instruments.
With fourteen musicians on stage and a detailed work of poetic composition and musical arrangements, the band has been awarded the Margot Loyola Roots Music Prize (2021) and first place in the Luis Advis Composition Competition (2022).
The show they will offer at GAM crosses the languages of music, poetry, visuals and dance, delving into the knowledge and interpretation of Chilean musical folklore, based on the compositional and interpretive essence of the Chilean cueca. This is reflected in their first album, “La cueca me captivado”.
