The classic oratorio Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, premiered 81 years ago, comes to GAM in a chamber version with choir, soloists and ballet by the UAH Music Institute.
Perhaps the most popular choral work of all time, Carmina Burana is a collection of medieval pagan verses, sung in Latin, satirizing the Catholic church. It is a mischievous story of love, debauchery and lust starring monks and students who abandon everything to celebrate life in a tavern.
With this work full of rhythm and percussion, which has made it the public's favorite, especially its best-known fragment "O Fortuna", the UAH Music Institute culminates its XI Concert Season.
