When the sun begins to set on Sundays in May, the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center will be transformed to welcome the genre that has set to music the romances and sorrows of an entire continent. The cycle Bolero Falaz, produced by GAM and Colectivo Abejorros, comes to demonstrate that the bolero is not a static memory, but a living organism that today breathes more strongly than ever thanks to a new generation of performers.
The journey begins in the deepest roots of our identity with Claudio Constanzo. As one of the most prominent popularizers of traditional music, Constanzo surrounds himself with a luxury band—with piano, double bass, and percussion—to focus on the specific richness of the Chilean bolero. It is a date with history, a vibrant tribute to the legacy of figures such as Vicente Bianchi and Clarita Solovera, interpreted with the mastery of someone who knows folklore from its essence.
The final touch comes with an unprecedented and powerful encounter: the union of three divergent trajectories in a single harmony. Carmen Prieto, Rosario Alfonso and Valentina Lambert intertwine their female voices for the first time to cover an essential Latin American repertoire. Backed by musicians with extensive experience, this trio closes the cycle celebrating the diversity of the genre in an atmosphere that invites contemplation and enjoyment.
The journey ends with the help ofCristóbal Briceño, who leaves aside his most electric side to confirm the value of the popular song as the definitive sentimental artifact. In an intimate presentation, the singer-songwriter gives himself permission to revisit the genre under his personal prism, adapting pieces from his own universe and transforming unexpected songs into boleristic gems that promise to thrill his most loyal followers and new listeners alike.
Bolero Falaz is the invitation for those seeking a top-level cultural experience in a space that, since 2023, has proposed opening its doors to local talent in the best technical conditions. Three dates, new looks and a single feeling that invites the entire community to rediscover why the bolero continues to be the universal language of passion.
