Carlos Vera Quartet | 9 Jun 7:30 p.m.

For more than 20 years, when his teacher in learned percussion and precursor of the vibraphone within popular music Guillermo Rifo retired from the circuit to compose,Carlos Vera appeared in the media as the exclusive active vibraphonist of Chilean jazz. These are the same two decades that had him as the lieutenant of alto saxophonist Patricio Ramírez within the group Nexus, and that ultimately gave Vera the status as a musician with great swing and capable of exercising leadership in other similar ensembles.

Esteban Sumar, Inverso discus launch | June 23 7:30 p.m.

Esteban Sumar is a contemporary and cutting-edge jazz guitarist and composer. Since he arrived in Santiago from Boston in 2003, he took a position in this space in a scene that was beginning to be outlined through new languages and proposals. His work had an important load of contemporary music, avant-garde and rock influence from groups like Radiohead. And his look at the guitar brought him closer to aspects of the "pianistic", in terms of the use of resources. But along with the jazz experience, Sumar also reached other areas of music, composing for chamber ensembles, in addition to directing popular music orchestras, producing albums, researching Mediterranean music and developing the sound of blues rock as a soloist.
