Alameda Window: Matta-Clark. The legacy of anarchitecture

PhD in Performance Studies from New York University (2011) and Master in Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1999). He has taught classes at different universities, both Chilean and foreign. Today he is an Associate Professor and director of the Master in Design Sciences at the Design Lab of the Adolfo Ibáñez University where he teaches courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. His work explores the relationships between architecture, public space, society, visual arts and the world of performance and performance design understood in a broad sense. He founded MESS in 2007, a creative collaboration platform that is developed by projects. Recently his practice has been linked to the world of exhibitions and curatorship. In 2016 he held the exhibition Faces of the Great North that won the award for best museography at the 6th. Chilean Design Biennial. During 2017 he was creative director and curator of the special projects of the XX Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of Chile, Diálogos Impostergables.

Among the exhibitions she has curated is 112 Greene Street: The Early Years (1970–1974) at David Zwirner, New York (2011), which led her to edit the critically acclaimed catalog of the same name, published by David Zwirner and Radius Books (2012). He co-curated (with Sergio Bessa) Gordon Matta-Clark: Anarchitect at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, which opened in November 2017 and subsequently toured to Jeu de Paume, Paris, France (June 2018); Kumu Kunstimuuseum, Tallinn, Estonia (February 2019); and to the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA (September 2019). He recently co-curated Gordon Matta-Clark: Graffiti Archive 1972/73 with Beyond the Streets' Roger Gastman for White Columns Gallery, New York (March 2025).

Mauricio Díaz-Gallardo (Sokio) is a composer, interdisciplinary artist and founder of New Latin Wave, a New York-based organization dedicated to contemporary Latin arts and cultures.

His work spans opera, performance, installation and sound art, exploring intersections between music and memory. He has composed and premiered six operas, including Paraíso (2023) and Splitting/Absence (2025–onwards), which combine archival research, spatial intervention and live performance. His operas expand traditional forms through electronics, text, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and have been performed throughout the Americas. Along with Amanda Riesman, he co-curated The Endless Coup at NADA for the 50th anniversary commemoration of the 1973 Chilean coup d'état, and the annual FUTUROS series at Lincoln Center, dedicated to creating space for contemporary Latin composers.
