Carmen Berenguer's posthumous book is presented to us as a group that escapes classifications, voices emerge in her writing to say what the eye sees, from a place that the author has always rooted in her work, the sectors that have been marginalized by a neoliberal system, the inequality that is sustained in the silence of the viewer and that today speaks to us again through her writing work (Clara Queró).
The title 'Que del forest los abrojos' cites a reference to southern Chile, a space of forests and threatened nature, where the red copihue grows. In addition to “open your eye” in popular saying, thistle names the shoot of the plant with long, creeping stems, which, composed of strong spikes, produces fruit and flower at the same time: the copihue and the coigüe. Thistle and sprout express an unavoidable vital emergency, says one of the presenters, Raquel Olea.
Rebellious poetry, exalting natural forces and denouncing the fragility of those excluded from neoliberal progress. 'Que del Bosque los abrojos' will be presented at GAM, accompanied by a conversation with the academic Raquel Olea and the poet Alejandra de Río.
