An emotional bicycle trip through the foothills of the mountain range that intertwines inclusion, the complicity between a father and his son, and a deep look at our city.
"Joaquín, pedalero in Peñalolén", is a moving work where a father dialogues with his son Joaquín, a young man with trisomy 21. Taking his son's voice to describe the life and routine of both, the story comes to life through rides on an adult bicycle, traveling the cycle path of the commune of Peñalolén in the heart of the mountain slope.
Throughout this journey on wheels, history opens a window to recognize Santiago from intimacy and daily observation, evidencing both its benefits and natural beauties, as well as its urban and social inequalities.
The launch will be experienced as an intimate, community and family event that will include the following activities:
- Discussion and presentation: A dialogue table made up of the author Pedro Yáñez, Katherine Alvarado Manzano, Graduate in Education, Spanish Teacher, UMCE, the illustrator Bárbara Brito and a representative of the publishing house.
- Live music: To accompany the spirit of the book, a small format musical sample will be presented.
- Book signing: An exclusive space for the acquisition of copies and a direct meeting with the author for dedications.
- Wine of honor: The day will conclude with a complimentary cocktail offered by the organizing team and the family behind the book, which will include mini empanadas, tapas, sweets and nuts.
